In Iranian architecture, there are magnificent works that engineers have created using module systems and geometry. Proportion, while being a key factor in harmony, has also been one of the persistent subjects studied in architecture. Iranian mosques are among the significant structures of Islamic civilization, where engineers across the four periods of Iranian architecture utilized proportions to enhance the functionality of spaces, as well as the aesthetic and visual appeal of important structures such as mosques. Therefore, this study conducts a comparative analysis of the proportions of the interior space of domed chambers in mosques from the four periods of Iranian architecture. Given the importance of mosques in Islamic civilization, it appears that specific proportions were employed in the design and construction of mosque domed chambers. This research aims to identify the proportions of the interior space of domed chambers in mosques across the four architectural periods in Iran. Since the samples examined in this study are non-random, the dimensions and measurements of the interior space of the mosque domed chambers have been analyzed based on proportions using a quasi-experimental approach and an inductive method. The data collection in this study is based on reviewing library documents and records, analyzing architectural plans, and examining visual data. Among the analyzed samples, proportions and geometry of the interior space of domed chambers vary across the four architectural periods. In each period, mosques share similar proportions, but these proportions change across different periods. For instance, in Khorasani-style mosques, the proportions range from approximately 0.3 to 0.5; in Razi-style mosques, they vary between 1.2 and 1.5; in Azari-style mosques, they range between 1.5 and 2.2; and in Isfahani-style mosques, the proportions fall between 1.3 and 1.4.
